Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, the Foundation for Amazon Sustainability (FAS) is a non-profit civil society organization that works for the sustainable development of the Amazon through programs and projects in the areas of education and citizenship, health, empowerment, research and innovation, environmental conservation, community infrastructure, entrepreneurship and income generation.
Our mission is to contribute to the conservation of the Amazon by valuing the standing forest and its biodiversity and improving the quality of life of the Amazonian populations. In 2023, the institution completes 15 years of activities with remarkable results, such as the 202% increase in the average income of thousands of families benefited and the 40% decrease in deforestation in areas covered by FAS between 2008 and 2021.

CAF America is a global grantmaking organization assisting corporations, foundations, and individuals. We streamline the grantmaking process to eliminate risk and administrative burden.
US donors cannot give directly to foreign charitable organizations and obtain a tax deduction. As a US public charity, CAF America is able to accept funds from US donors who can then recommend that CAF America use those funds to support foreign charitable organizations or projects. We enable donors to support the causes they care about by assisting them in making strategic, effective, and tax-advantaged grants internationally and domestically.
International giving can be complex. With CAF America, it doesn’t have to be. CAF America and its subsidiaries have given more than $3.8 billion in charitable donations to organizations in over 135 countries around the world.
